The Interstate 95 and railway transportation corridors in Connecticut continue to experience increased volumes and overcrowding. The Bridgeport Port Authority identified an opportunity to initiate high speed ferry service between Bridgeport, Stamford and Manhattan to help alleviate the situation. TPA evaluated the feasibility of the ferry system and designed a ferry terminal & docking facility. Market analyses, construction feasibility, cost estimates and routing analyses have been completed. The next step is to identify an operator and formulate an operations and business plan. TPA will prepare plans for dredging, bulkhead, docking, building, roadways and parking.
