Landscape architecture and civil engineering design for a one acre grounds renovation of The Elizabeth R. Hooker House in the historic East Rock neighborhood. Design goals included the refurbishment and enhancement of the formal garden and woodlands to provide fluid entertainment spaces adjacent to the house and informal gardens to create the illusion of a private woodland setting. Detailed design included planning for the reuse of aged bluestone pavers for terraces, driveway banding and pathways, new brick terraces and steps, pergola, gates, footbridge, dry stream bed, birdbath, fountain, site lighting, irrigation and extensive formal and informal plantings. This project receivedĀ the 2009 Award of MeritĀ from the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation.
