 A Downtown Revitalization Plan prepared by TPA Design Group identified four major focus areas: public improvements, traffic/parking, commercial revitalization and redevelopment. The City conducted a series of stakeholder meetings and priority projects were identified. Improving the image of downtown, gaining more on-street parking and slowing traffic were objectives of the project. Improvements include: decorative crosswalks and sidewalks, sidewalk bump-outs to narrow the street, reorganized parallel parking, street trees, ornamental lights, landscaping, pocket parks and screening of off-street parking areas.
