STEEL POINT REDEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

After performing a physical and economic analysis of the 15 acre Steel Point site situated within Bridgeport Harbor, the TPA team assembled a Developer Solicitation Package, conducted a nationwide search for interested parties, and then assisted in reviewing the qualifications and technical proposals of the short-listed developers. TPA then evaluated the feasibility of relocating the water dependent businesses located on the site. Site searches, physical analyses, and user compatibility studies led to the identification of eight potential relocation sites. TPA's role was then expanded to provide technical assistance to the Bridgeport Port Authority for reviewing the Developer's technical submissions for a mixed-use development, formulating development and funding agreements, and creating land disposition strategies. TPA also prepared an Environmental Impact Evaluation triggered by the request for the release of $280 million of State funds.
