CAPITOL AVENUE STREETSCAPE CONCEPT

HARTFORD, CT

TPA designed pedestrian, bicycle, and streetscape improvements
along Capitol Avenue between Park Terrace and Trinity Street (0.9 miles). Planning included traffic calming devices, reduction of travel lanes, addition of bike lanes, and redesign of a major intersection at the entrance to the state capitol.

Roadway milling and paving, along with streetscape amenities such as seating areas and landscaping, will help to create a unified, attractive aesthetic befitting a major arterial road near the State Capitol, State Library, Bushnell Theater, and other historic properties.
